Weds., Oct. 22, Eileen Flanagan of Earth Quaker Action Team on her book Common Ground: How the Crisis of the Earth is Saving Us from the Illusion of Separation. 6:00 Potluck, 7:00 Presentation.
Eileen Flanagan https://eileenflanagan.com was one of the activists who spoke about the successes of Earth Quaker Action Team in the film Citizen George, which we recently showed. In her book she describes how, through grassroots organizing, diverse groups of people have had success in countering the banks and energy companies most responsible for climate change. This hopeful account shows how people can build powerful movements for change when they find common ground and take action together, providing lessons for us as we struggle against authoritarianism.
While she will be bringing copies of the book for those who wish to purchase it, if you would like to read it in advance, it’s currently on sale from her publisher, Seven Stories Press https://www.sevenstories.com/books/4731-common-ground
Join us for a potluck at 6:00 p.m. and for the book talk and discussion starting at 7--attend all or part. Open to the community! Share with your friends and family.
