Sunday, January 25, potluck and 2nd hour film and discussion on "Living Ubuntu” with Live Oak Meeting

Friends from nearby Live Oak Meeting will join us for a potluck and film/discussion on "Living Ubuntu," (38-min.) a documentary about the Friends World Committee on Consultation (FWCC) 2024 world plenary. The theme of the Plenary was "Living the spirit of Ubuntu: Responding with hope to God’s call to cherish creation – and one another."

From the World Plenary Epistle: "Ubuntu is a Zulu word that speaks to the power and ceaseless work of the Holy Spirit between us, enabling us to go beyond our individual selves and grasp that ‘I am because we are.’"

The documentary, produced by Friends from Pacific Yearly Meeting, shows what unfolded when 500 Quakers from 53 countries gathered in South Africa in 2024.

All are welcome. This is a family-friendly event.

Contact Mimi to let her know what you will bring to the potluck.
