Friday, February 28, 6:30 am-8:00 am our next Equatorial Voice, Murhula Zigabe Guido using “Wall Gardens” in Congo to help defeat urban hunger.
Plastic bottles, turned into hanging gardens, now help put muscle on hungry children in “informal” city neighborhoods there. Murhula is a leading member of EVN, the Equatorial Voices Network our Meeting supports. He'll share with us several ways they're overcoming some of the harder impacts of climate change on the ground there. If you've questions, or want the recording, please contact Nancy Glock-Grueneich (nglock@post.harvard.edu)
Update March 2025: On the day of Murhula's presentation, Feb. 28, M-23 were bombing the town he was in and he and family were running for their lives. They are safe now, thanks to the Quaker based organization, Good-4-Good.
Isaac was to speak on Mar. 28, but as he's also having difficulties, forcing EVN with much regret to have to cancel his talk. EVN has decided that this coming Quarter we will take recess from speakers for awhile, instead they will be in dialogue--to which you are invited--to consolidate what we've learned from the now some 20 speakers of these past two years and to seek for deeper spiritual discernment on next steps. Please, hold them in the Light --and let me know (nglock@post.harvard.edu) if you'd like to join the process, or share your thoughts or resources with them in it. EVN will be back in touch as these things progress.
