Friday, August 22, training 9-1, lunch 1-2,  Santa Cruz Friends Meeting (225 Rooney St., Santa Cruz)

In the face of rising authoritarianism, this interactive workshop will focus on strategies of non-cooperation which are especially urgent in this moment. Together we’ll learn about and practice:

  1.     A broader framework for long-term resistance and movement-building

  2.     Practical tools for non-cooperation beyond protests

  3.     A meaningful opportunity to connect with interfaith and organizing partners in our community

We’ll look at how to escalate strategically and what we need to do collectively to build a robust resistance to the authoritarian playbook. The workshop will include participatory activities such as role plays and small group discussions meant to inspire creative thinking on how to take action as individuals and in groups.
