Second Hour, Jan. 5, 2025: Report from the West Bank, with Robert Levering

Wall in Bethlehem

After worship on Sunday, Jan. 5 th , from 12:30-1:30, Robert Levering will talk about his recent visit to the West Bank and East Jerusalem. During his two weeks there, he met with Palestinians throughout the occupied territory who have experienced worsening conditions since the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023.

Robert will share their stories along with photos of the people he met and the places he visited. Some have had their homes demolished by the Israeli military, others detained and tortured by Israeli authorities, still others have been subjects of raids by Israeli settlers, and others regularly harassed at military checkpoints. He will reflect on the question of what role hope plays for Palestinians in the face of these difficulties.

Robert’s trip was part of a “Solidarity Pilgrimage” sponsored by Friends of Sabeel North America, a Palestinian Christian organization
