Are You New to Quakers?
-
Yes, guests and newcomers are always welcome to join us. There is no need to make prior arrangements. We invite you to attend any of our Sunday meetings. We suggest you arrive ten minutes early so that you can find your seat and get comfortable.
-
Comfortable chairs are provided for sitting. Most people dress casually. Avoid wearing perfumes or scented products, as some are allergic to them. Please turn off phones and watches.
Typically after meeting newcomers may introduce themselves. We then share joys and sorrows and hear announcements of coming events. After the rise of meeting, light refreshments are offered in the social hall. You are welcome to stay for all or leave when you choose.
-
Try to come on time. Better yet, plan to arrive a few minutes early! Please be as quiet as possible upon entering and during worship. We meet together in a circle, waiting in expectant silence to experience the Divine Presence.
-
If the meeting has already begun (10:30 am), there will be a greeter who shows you where you can sit while waiting for the second entry into meeting at 10:45. The greeter will signal when it is time. Then please enter quietly and go directly to an open seat. The greeter will make sure no one is giving a message at the time of second entrance.

No. Donations are accepted but not expected.
-
No, you do not have to be a Quaker to attend silent worship. Our practice is compatible with other religions or faith traditions. Some of us practice other religious paths in addition to Quakerism.
-
Use your own judgment in adjusting your posture to find a comfortable position. If you need to get up you can quietly stand and walk to a side of the meeting room or step outside the meeting by the door you came in.
